Wilma Jean McFadden, age 86 of Savanna, Illinois, died on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, with Reverend Sejoon Jang officiating. Burial will take place in Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Jean was born on January 9, 1929, the daughter of Delbert and Helen (Timmons) Hatfield in rural Savanna. She was raised in Savanna and attended Savanna High School. She married Gordon S. “Mac” McFadden on October 8, 1949 in Savanna. Mac died on August 23, 2006 at his home in Savanna.
Jean worked at the Savanna Garment Factory and later for ALCO Dispensary, which later became Elkay Manufacturing. Jean loved and enjoyed her family, especially watching her sons compete in sports and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was dedicated to taking care of her family and her home.
Jean will be dearly missed by three sons, Wayne (Cynthia) McFadden of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Dennis (Barbara) McFadden of Savanna, and Kenneth McFadden of Savanna; four grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) McFadden, Keri (Heath) Burkholder, Alissa (Jonathan Cudé) McFadden and Alex (Kyle) McGivney; five great grandchildren, Dalton and Drew Burkholder, Aubrey and Ava McFadden, and Brynn McGivney. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon S. “Mac” McFadden; three brothers, Vernon, David and LeRoy Hatfield; and two sisters, Dorothy Hatfield and Jesse Vesperman.
