William Roy Stotler, age 81, of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Savanna. Pastor Michael Wey will officiate. Inurnment will be in Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna at a later date. Friends may call 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund for the First Presbyterian Church, Savanna.
William was born April 8, 1924 in Jerome, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Oma (Campbell) Stotler. On March 9, 1954 William married Alvina Cecelia Bolz in Sidney, Nebraska.
William served in the United States Army from March 10, 1943 till March 9, 1946; he then worked for the Department of the Army as a civilian for thirty-three years with one overseas tour in Okinawa for three years. William enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and traveling. He was a past member of the Lions Club, Member of NARFE, and an Elder and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Savanna.
William will be dearly missed by his wife, Alvina; his three sons, Raymond E. (Melva) Stotler of Henderson, Colorado; Rodney D. (Donna) Stotler of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, and David L. (Sandra) Stotler of Sidney, Nebraska; one daughter, Wanda F. (Todd) Anderson of Brandenburg, Kentucky; two brothers, Arthur (Clara) Stotler of Salem, Oregon and James (Lauretta) Wooster of Kingman, Indiana; four sisters, Ethel Cooley of Rolla, Missouri, Betty (Harold) Warren of Denver, Colorado, Dorothy (Bill) Richinson of Moody, Missouri and Billie (Dale) Kirkendall of Montpelier, Ohio; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Viola McKinney; one sister, Jane; one brother, Paul; one granddaughter, Shana
