Wayne E. Green, age 66, of Sabula, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at his home in rural Sabula. According to his wishes, Wayne will be cremated and a private family memorial service will be held. Memorials may be directed to Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula, in Wayne’s memory. Wayne was born October 17, 1944, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Joan (Hubner) Houston. He graduated from Sabula High School with the Class of 1962. Wayne proudly served in the United States Army, being stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Wayne married Barbara Earhart on December 15, 1972, in Sabula.
Wayne worked for over forty years at Rock Tenn in Clinton, Iowa. He was a member of the Sabula American Legion. Wayne was a hobby farmer and enjoyed raising chickens, turkeys, ducks and rabbits. He was also an avid fisherman.
Wayne is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Barb Green of Sabula; two daughters, Jennifer (Allen) Dayboll of Savanna, Illinois, and Dawn (Jamie) Putnam of Oswego, Illinois; five grandchildren, Ashlie Earhart, Jacob Earhart, Allie Dayboll, Jessica Dayboll, and Aiden Putnam; and six brothers and sisters, Dick (Sandy) Green of Preston, Iowa, Linda (Larry) LeClair of Sabula, Diana (Steve) Steffes of Lanark, Illinois, Bill Houston of Sabula, Kathy (Ron) Ehredt of Savanna, and Debra (Scott) Hermann of Camanche, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Roger Earhart and Jason Green.
