Warner A. Zissler, age 51, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois died Sunday, August 20, 2006 at his home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2006 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Funeral Home. A general memorial fund has been established in Warner’s memory.
Warner was born October 11, 1954 in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Warner R. and Mary E. (Longnecker) Zissler. Warner married Kim Seehaver on May 28, 1980 in Dallas, Texas. They re-newed their wedding vows on January 25, 2006.
Warner served his country in the U.S. Army from 1973-1976, he served in the 82nd Airborne and later worked as a mechanic for many years. He liked anything mechanical, and was especially talented at finding out how and why something worked. He loved his Mopars, motorcycles, electronics and his three dogs Lucy, Molly and Spud. He enjoyed animals and working in the outdoors.
Warner will be dearly missed by his wife, Kim of Mount Carroll, Illinois; four brothers, Ronald (Rosemary) Zissler of Pecatonica, Illinois, Robert Zissler of Pecatonica, Larry Zissler of Rockford, Illinois and Gary (Brenda) Zissler of Rockford; four sisters, Shirley Alley of Sacramento, California, Mary McGrath of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Judith Bickelhaupt of Covina, California and Sharon (Kevin) McCoy of Rockford; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by a close friend, Casey Lawyer of Mount Carroll, who was like a son to Warner.
Warner is preceded in death by his parents.
