Walter Ludwisiak Sr.

Walter Ludwisiak, age 88 of Apple River, Illinois, died Monday, September 16, 2013. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth, Illinois, with Father Jacob Noel as Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Elizabeth. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Autism Awareness Foundation in Walter’s memory.
Walter was born July 5, 1925 in Osiny, Polland, the son of Frank and Maria Ludwisiak. Walter honorably served his country in the United States Army. While serving in the Army during World War II, he was stationed in Germany were he met the love of his life Barbara Schorr. Walter married Barbara on December 24, 1949 in Germany. Barbara passed away October 17, 1990. He attended a trade school for refrigeration and heating. Walter later went to work for North Town Refrigeration and Heating in Chicago, Illinois for many years.
Walter was a family man he always enjoyed taking the kids out for rides on the weekends. Later in life he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Walter will be dearly missed by his two sons, Walter (Chris) Ludwisiak Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, John Ludwisiak of Itasca, Illinois; one daughter, Gabriele (Bob) Kanowski of Wood Dale, Illinois; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara and a daughter in-law, Suzanne.
