Walter F. Gieson

Walter F. Gieson, age 84, of Dixon, previously of Chadwick, Illinois died, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at KSB Hospital in Dixon, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home Chadwick, Illinois with Pastor Josh Jensen officiating. Burial will be the Chadwick Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007, prior to the funeral service at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Chadwick. Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Free Church of Chadwick. Walter was born March 28, 1922 the son of Fred and Mattie (Hubbard) Gieson in Norcross, Minnesota. He attended Chadwick High School graduating with the Class of 1942. On January 1, 1944 Walter married Betty Law in Chadwick. Walter was a charter member of the Evangelical Free Church of Chadwick. He served sixteen years on the church board, including the past five years as an Elder. He farmed near Chadwick most of his life.From 1977 to 1992, Walter and Betty lived in Mesa, Arizona, while in Mesa he worked as a plumber. Walter will be dearly missed by his wife, Betty of rural Dixon; a sister in-law, Patricia Gieson of Dixon and several nieces and nephews. Walter is preceded in death by both parents, a son, Randy in 1975, and a brother Clarence Gieson in 2000.
