Vito M. Siciliano, age 88, of Mt. Carroll, formerly of Chicago, Illinois passed away May 13, 2008 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. A Memorial Gathering honoring Vito’s life will be held on 1:00 ~ 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll with Pastor Bob Ziebarth of Mt. Carroll Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of “one great guy”.
Vito was born January 4, 1920. He was a World War II Veteran, serving his country overseas in the European Theater. Vito held the rank of Sergeant Tech #4, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, three Overseas Service Bars, the American Campaign Medal with one Bronze Battle Star and the WWII Victory Medal. He was inducted October 29, 1942 and discharged November 9, 1945.
Vito lived in Chicago for 82 years, working in Factory Maintenance for over 40 years. In 2003, Vito moved to Lanark with his wife, Madeline of sixty-six years. Vito and Madeline lived at Highland Meadows Senior Apartments, Lanark, IL for 2 ½ happy years and another 2 ½ memorable years at Good Sam Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll.
Vito will be dearly missed by his loving, wife, Madeline (a resident of Good Sam NH); a daughter, Madelyn; three sons, Joseph, Michael and Steven; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All affectionately known as “VITO’S GANG”.
