Violet A. Tippett, age 94, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Society in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2010, also at Law – Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth. Memorials may be directed to the Carroll County Good Samaritan Society. Violet was born July 28, 1915, in Massbach, Illinois, the daughter of Quincy M. and Ida Mae (Diehl) Randecker. Violet married Cletus Tippett on June 23, 1937, in Elizabeth. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2005.
Violet worked as a nurses aid at the Elizabeth Nursing Home for many years. She loved to sew and crochet, playing her organ and music. Most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family. Violet’s family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan for their love and kindness shown to Violet during her time there.
Violet is survived and lovingly remembered by one daughter, Mary Lynn (LaDon) Trost of Stockton, Illinois; one son, Ron (Kay) Tippett of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin; twenty two grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Banfield of Cuba City, Wisconsin, and Mary Pearce of Hazel Green, Wisconsin; one brother, Quincy (Bev) Randecker Jr. of Lena, Illinois; one sister in – law, Helen Hubb of Elizabeth, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cletus Tippett; one daughter, Donna Schulte; one son, Nolan Tippett; one sister, Rose Mullen; two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Randecker; and two great granddaughters.
