Twila Ann (Hatheway) Van Brocklin, age 55 of Fulton, Illinois, previously of Argo Fay passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Law-Jones Funeral, Thomson, IL. Burial will take place in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. Memorials may be given in Twila’s memory. Twila was born on January 24, 1958, the daughter of Leo and Betty (Carroll) Hatheway, Sr. in Morrison, IL. She attended Thomson High School and graduated with the Class of 1976. On April 8, 1977, Twila married John A. Van Brocklin, they were divorced in 1988.
Twila enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her three children and especially time spent with her grandchildren, Xander, Selena and Jason Vogel. She worked for Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mt. Carroll, not only did she enjoy working at the nursing home, she enjoyed bringing her children and dog “Bear” to visit the patients. Twila was a member of the Mt. Carroll Women’s Bowling League, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Twila will be dearly missed by her son, David Van Brocklin of Mt. Carroll; two daughters, Amber (Jason) Nance of Freeport and Brandy (Court) Vogel of Fulton; her mother, Betty Hatheway of Savanna; and two sisters, Tina Bardell of Rockford and Teresa (Jerry) Bonjour of Savanna; three brothers, Perley (Susan) Hatheway of Lanark, John (Tina) Hatheway of Chadwick and Leo (Debra) Hatheway, Jr. of Polo, IL and three grandchildren. Twila was preceded in death by her father, Leo Hatheway, Sr. and a companion, Arlyn Holesinger.
