Trudy Metz age 76 of Hanover, Illinois passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held at this time.
Trudy Metz was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of Iona Cranfill Hagberg and Lyle Morton Summers. They moved to the Chicago area and lived there for many years.
She married and had two sons, Jim and John, who both passed away. Also, Trudy lost her husband, Don Southwell, to cancer.
Living in Hanover, Illinois, Trudy made many friends and enjoyed working at the VFW. She had cancer over the last few years but she was able to cure it. However, the radiation and chemotherapy treatments took a toll on her fragile body.
Trudy is at peace now and all who knew her will miss her friendly face and her warm smile.
