Tracy Lynn Notz, 57, of Miles, IA, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Alverno Nursing Home in Clinton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 21, at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Preston, IA. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow at Reeseville Cemetery.
Tracy was born October 10, 1968, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Dale and Gayle (Putman) Daniels. She grew up in Green Island, IA, and graduated with the East Central High School Class of 1987.
After high school, Tracy worked at PFC in Clinton before beginning her tenure at Custom-Pak. It was there that she met the love of her life, Kenneth Notz. The two were married on October 28, 2000, and from that day forward, they were inseparable. Tracy adored her husband, and their devotion to one another was evident to everyone who knew them.
Tracy took great pride in her home and her land. She tended her vegetable gardens and fruit trees with care, canning the harvests and sharing the results generously. She had begun creating a family cookbook, an effort now lovingly continued by her nieces, capturing the recipes and traditions that made her kitchen the heart of so many gatherings.
Though Tracy faced significant health challenges throughout her life, she never allowed them to diminish her spirit or her commitment to others. She was the glue of the family; the organizer, the planner, the steady presence who kept everyone connected. She had no children of her own, yet she was a natural matriarch, nurturing every generation with the same boundless love.
Tracy had an extraordinary gift for relationships. She maintained close, personal connections with every member of the family, always finding time for each person in a way that seemed almost impossible. She carried the burdens of others without hesitation, and by the end of any phone call, she had them laughing. Her quiet resilience shone through even on her hardest days. She never complained.
Holidays were Tracy’s stage for joy. She prepared trivia games for every Thanksgiving, crafting questions that made young and old feel included. At Easter, she orchestrated the annual egg hunt with enthusiasm. Her gatherings were warm, lively, and full of the small touches that made people feel loved.
Tracy was deeply respected within her family. She offered honest, constructive guidance when it was needed, and her words were valued because they came from a place of wisdom, care, and unwavering loyalty.
Tracy’s life was defined not by what she endured, but by what she gave: laughter, steadiness, kindness, and a sense of belonging that will be profoundly missed.
Tracy is survived by her loving husband, Ken; mother, Gayle; siblings, Carrie (Wes Cheshier) Lathrop, Marty (Kristie Speer) Daniels, Shaun (Amanda) Daniels, and Mitch (Tara) Daniels; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, whom Tracy loved dearly; sister-in-law, LaVonne (Orlynn) Hurt; and mother-in-law, Janice Kerkove. Tracy is preceded in death by her father, Dale Daniels, and father-in-law, Clarence Notz.
