Timothy was born on May 30, 1953, in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Julius and Velva Stepanek. He is a graduate of La Porte High School, with the Class of 1972.
Timothy studied computer science in college while working many years at one of history's most famous and renowned United States Office of Sciences, Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois. His work with supercomputers, quantum computers, and mainframe systems at the Richard Feynman Computer Center at Fermilab assisted great physicists like Richard Feynman and many others with their scientific research and development. Richard Feynman was one of the originators of the idea of quantum computing and Timothy maintained those supercomputers.
During his leisure, his joy was building, fixing and programming all types of computers, spending quality time with his daughter and granddaughter, and enjoying nature with his high school sweetheart of 45 and ½ years Becky Stepanek.
Timothy will be forever missed by his wife, Becky Lynn Stepanek; daughter, Shannon Christina Shuman; and grandchild, Zoey Colette Shuman.
