Tom was born February 8, 1948, son of Kermit and Corrine (Bender) Shaw. He grew up in Savanna, and attended Savanna schools. Tom graduated from Savanna High School with the class of 1966. In 2002 Tom married the love of his life, Barb Hostetter. Together they celebrated 22 years of marriage.
For those who knew and loved Tom, he will be remembered as a nature lover, star gazer, bird watcher, agate hunter and avid hunter of all seasons. He was a commercial fisherman and a master chef of fried catfish, morels, duck, venison, squirrel, rabbit and even frog legs. This Cubs fan and rock hound was a river rat to his core and had the most genuine salt of the earth spirit one could find. Bygones are gone. Til we meet again, bye for now.
