Thomas C. “Cy” Kloss, age 55, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died unexpectedly on November 18, 2011. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Church of St. Mary, Elizabeth. Burial will take place in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Elizabeth. A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth with a scripture wake service held at 8:00 p.m..
Tom was born on May 24, 1956, the son of Cyril and Leone (Groezinger) Kloss in Savanna, Illinois. He attended Elizabeth High School and graduated with the Class of 1974. After graduation, Tom worked as a mechanic for Wayman Cobine Equipment in Elizabeth. He later worked for Vulcan Tool in Dubuque, Iowa and was currently employed at Dura in Stockton, Illinois. Tom enjoyed working on old farm equipment and Chevy cars. He was a member of the Church of St. Mary and the Elizabeth Fire Department. Tom enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Most of all, Tom loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends.
Tom will be dearly missed by his three children, Jason (Camber Hill) Kloss of Rock Island, Illinois, Jennifer (Gabe) McKee of Warren, Illinois and Janessa (Troy Pafford) Kloss of Apple River, Illinois; six grandchildren, Ragenea, Xavier, Madison, Isabella, Treyton and Hailie; one brother, Harvey Kloss of Elizabeth; and two sisters in-law, Joan Kloss of Elizabeth and Bev Kloss of Elizabeth.
Tom was preceeded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert, Russell and Stanley Kloss.
