Thomas H. Brock

Wichita, Kansas - Beloved husband and father Thomas Harl Brock, 74, passed away on July 17, 2021, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in 1947 to Elmer and Lula Brock of Mount Carroll, Illinois. He graduated from Mount Carroll High School in 1965 and attended Shimer College for two years before transferring to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television Communications and a Master's degree in Educational Psychology.

In 1973 he married Patricia Tucker and shortly afterwards they moved from Illinois to Wichita, Kansas. He worked for KPTS, the local public television station, and later moved on to Wichita State University, where he worked as the manager and director of the Media Resources Center until he retired in 2012. He and Patricia raised two daughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lula Brock of Mount Carroll, Illinois. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia, of Wichita; daughter, Amy (Morgan) Green of Goleta, CA; daughter, Amanda of Chicago, IL; and granddaughters, Emily and Ella Green of Goleta, CA.

A Graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mount Carroll, IL on June 27, 2026, at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UCC Music Scholarship Fund, KMUW Wichita, or the Mount Carroll Community Foundation.
