Theresa Ann Budde

Theresa Ann Budde, age 37, was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Theresa died after a courageous 5 year battle with breast cancer on Saturday, August 16, 2014 in her home, surrounded by her family. Cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston. Burial of her cremated remains will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston. A scripture wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m., prior to the visitation at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Theresa’s memory.
Theresa was born on December 27, 1976, the daughter of Ronald and Elaine (Burken) Holdgrafer in Clinton, Iowa. She attended East Central High School in Miles, Iowa graduating with the Class of 1995. Theresa married Jesse Budde on June 7, 1997 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston.
Theresa and her husband, Jesse owned and operated Corner Stop Catering in Spragueville, Iowa. In 2012, they purchased Hometown Cafe in Preston. Theresa loved her community and donated her time, always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston and actively volunteered with the Preston Fire Department and Relay for Life. Theresa loved taking cruises and vacations with her husband, Jesse. Just before she died, they were able to take one last road trip together to Las Vegas. Most of all, Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her two children and granddaughter.
Theresa will be dearly missed by her husband, Jesse; two children, Clayton and Kylie Budde; one granddaughter, Addison; parents; Ronald and Elaine Holdgrafer of Bryant, Iowa; two brothers, James (Melissa) Holdgrafer of Bryant and Eric (Lisa) Holdgrafer of Miles, Iowa; her father and mother in-law, Rick (Doris) Budde of Bellevue; one brother in-law, Jeremy (Michelle) Budde of Preston; two sisters in-law, Jill Huling of Preston and Jennifer (Travis) Weber of Sabula; two grandmothers, Grandma Klemme and Grandma Budde and several nieces and nephews.
