Thelma Law-McCall, age 90, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Carroll County Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Mount Carroll, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Thelma was born on March 16, 1920, the daughter of Herman and Jennie (Nesbitt) Toepfer in Woodland Township. She attended Henderson Grade School in Woodland Township and later attended Mount Carroll High School. She was married to Blendon Law and they raised three sons, Herbert, Robert and Gerald. She enjoyed farming and raising turkey’s with her husband, Blendon. Thelma was later married to Harlan McCall.
Thelma owned and operated a greenhouse in Mount Carroll and later the Law Motel in Savanna, until selling the motel in 2004. She was a member of the Mount Carroll Church of God, Mount Carroll. Thelma enjoyed flower gardening and traveling to Arizona for the winter. Most of all, Thelma cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Thelma is survived by her two sons, Robert (Ginger) Law of Mount Carroll and Gerald Law of Springfield, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Morgan of Bovey, Minnesota; and one daughter in-law, Jan Law of Mount Carroll.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; one son, Herbert; one brother, Lyle Toepfer; and two sisters, Fern Meyers and Arlene Morgan.
