Terry L. Palmer age 63, of Savanna, Illinois passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover, Illinois. A visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois.
Terry was born March 20, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Gilbert and Clara (Lehew) Palmer. He attended Hanover High School and graduated with the Class of 1970. Terry worked as a journeyman electrician at Chicago Northwestern for 22 years. He later worked at AV Transportation in Camanche, Iowa, for many years.
Terry enjoyed family social gatherings, watching movies, and riding his Harley. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He will best be remembered as being a strong family man with a kind heart. He valued the chance to help anyone who needed it and always had an open door for people.
Terry will be dearly missed by his children, Connie (Michael) Austin of Clinton, Iowa, Christine (Dana) Gilbert of Bettendorf, Iowa, Samantha (Blake) Palmer of Davenport, Iowa, Danny (Melissant) Palmer of Chicago, Illinois, Ryan Palmer of Savanna, Illinois, and Kevin (Ashley) Palmer of Lanark, Illinois; five grandchildren; and a brother, Derrell Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Clara.
