Terry John McCue

Terry John McCue, 72, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. A celebration of Terry's life will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8th at Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna.

Born on June 7, 1953, in Savanna, Terry was the beloved son of Ralph and Cecelia (Wagner) McCue. He grew up in his hometown and graduated from Savanna High School. Terry held various jobs over the years. He worked at Eaton Corporation, held positions in telemarketing and restaurant service, and later served at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mt. Carroll. In recent years, he found deep purpose as an in-home caregiver, most notably fulfilling a heartfelt promise to care for his parents until their final days.

Terry had a deep love for family and embraced his role as the "fun uncle." He delighted in taking his niece and nephews fishing, sharing movies and video games with them—especially quirky B-movie favorites—and surprising them with small toys and gifts. Known for his distinct style, he liked to sport a leather jacket and chain, a reflection of his personality and pride in presentation. Terry also had a lifelong passion for cars, especially his cherished Pontiac Firebird, which he meticulously maintained.

Terry is survived by his sister, Elaine; his nephews, Christopher (Ashley) Neumiller and Justin Neumiller of Davenport, Iowa; his niece, Christina (Aaron) Cress of Long Grove, Iowa; nine grandnieces and grandnephews; and two cousins Selene, and Sharon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved cat, Klinker.
