Terry Allen Andresen

Terry Allen Andresen, age 69, of Miles, IA, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals, in Iowa City, IA. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Law Jones Funeral Home, in Preston, IA, at 12 noon. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 12 from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home, as well as one hour prior to Saturday’s service. Burial will occur at Center Grove Cemetery. Terry was born March 10, 1953, in Savanna, IL, the son of Nicholas and Esther (Schroeder) Andresen. He attended Low Moor and Clinton schools. Following his school years, Terry went to work for International Paper in Clinton, IA. He then worked for his uncle’s trucking company, Bluebird Transfer, for a number of years, and for East Central school district as a bus mechanic. Terry then spent the rest of his working life as an owner/operator truck driver for several trucking companies. On July 15, 1972, Terry married Donna Hanson at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, in Sabula, IA.

Terry was a hardworking man who, even in his free time, always seemed to have his hands on a project. He loved working on his race cars and tending to whatever needed to be done with the house. Many weekends were spent at the Cordova racetrack, on his motorcycle, or shooting pool, with his beloved Donna by his side. In private, he was a bit of a writer, and from time to time, an artist. Most of all though, Terry loved his family. If you were fortunate enough to be family to Terry, you knew he always had your back!

Terry will be dearly missed by his wife, Donna; children, Pete (Angie) Andresen, of Camanche, IA, Tracy Andresen, of Miles, IA, Andy (Megan Hansen) Andresen, of Preston, IA, and Emilee (Matt) Wright, of Preston, IA; 15 grandchildren; one great grandson; four sisters, Di Morrow, Bonnie (Harry) Sanders, Deb (Steve) Collopy, and Marcia Oldsen (Vic Franzen); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Esther; four sisters; and one brother.
