Terrill L. Pete Franzen

Terrill L. “Pete” Franzen, age 62, of Tipton, Iowa, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Eagle Point Nursing Home, Clinton, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Sabula, Iowa. Inurnment will be in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Sabula, Iowa. Pastor Robert Krueger of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula, will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Sabula. A general memorial fund has been established in Pete’s name.
Pete was born June 29, 1943 at home in Sabula, Iowa, the son of August H. and Iola M. (Schmidt) Franzen.
Pete worked as a machinist in local factories. He enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. He was also a collector of model cars.
Pete will be dearly missed by his wife, Brenda Vans Coy of Tipton, Iowa; one daughter, Becky Batzkiel of Tipton, Iowa; his father, August Franzen of Sabula, Iowa; two brothers, Nolan “Buck” Franzen of Sabula, Iowa, Gaylen “Jiggs” Franzen of Sabula, Iowa; five sisters, Aleda Lohmeier of Sabula, Iowa, Sharon (Harold) Jess of Sabula, Iowa, Sandra (Eldon) Jepsen of Sabula, Iowa, Lynn Metz of Sabula, Iowa, Lanelle (Mike) Doerman of Sabula, Iowa; three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Pete is preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Lyndell Franzen.
