Teresa Bonjour

Teresa Jo Bonjour, 62, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa.

Born on July 28, 1964, in Clinton, Iowa, Teresa was the daughter of Leo and Betty (Carroll) Hatheway. She is a graduate of Thomson High School.

On December 31, 1997, Teresa married Gerald Bonjour. They shared many happy years together until Gerald’s passing on July 27, 2013.

Teresa was a hardworking woman who took pride in every job she held throughout her life. She was employed at Dusty’s Restaurant in Thomson, Swiss Colony in Savanna, Riverview Bar & Grill in Thomson, and VFW in Savanna, where she made many lasting friendships.

Her greatest joy was spending time outdoors. Teresa loved boating and fishing on the Mississippi River, planting flowers, gardening, mushroom hunting, camping, and playing pool. Whether enjoying nature or gathering with family and friends, she appreciated the simple pleasures in life.

Most of all, Teresa treasured her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Casey (Tabitha) Coleman of Asher, Oklahoma; her daughter, Wendy Hatheway of Canon City, Colorado; seven beloved grandchildren; her mother, Betty (Carroll) Hatheway; her siblings, John (Tina) Hatheway, Perley (Susan) Hatheway, Leo (Deb) Hatheway Jr., and Tina Bardell; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Bonjour; her father, Leo Hatheway; her sister, Twila Van Brocklin; and her sister-in-law, Debra Hatheway.

In keeping with Teresa’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. No public services will be held.
