Tayler J. Bensching

Tayler J. Bensching, of Mt. Carroll, IL, formerly of Boise, ID, passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 7th. A celebration of Tayler’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24th at the Mt. Carroll Senior Center. Tayler was born November 18th, 1981, son of Thomas and Jan (Coats) Bensching. Tayler grew up in Idaho and attended Lewiston grade school. Tayler attended Meridian Academy, graduating with the class of 2000. Tayler loved skateboarding and snowboarding as a teen and into his 20s. He enjoyed reading, learning all things about our universe, watching sci-fi, and trolling the former President, flat-earthers, and climate-change deniers on Twitter. Later in life Tayler moved to Mt. Carroll to help his mother, and to be closer to family. In Mt. Carroll, Tayler worked for the Mt. Carroll Senior Center, and became part of their family.

Tayler had a magnetic personality. He was the kind of person you wanted to be friends with, and his personality attracted many close companions. He was known for his wit, and always had a quick comeback or off the cuff remark. At the center of his life were his family and his huge network of friends. His kind and sensitive heart lives on in those he loved most.

Tayler will be dearly missed by his mother, Jan Coats of Mt. Carroll; sister, Emily Bensching of Westmont, IL; step-brother, Matt Redd of Spokane, WA; step-nephew, Chase Redd of Spokane, WA; five uncles, Cloy Coats of Livermore, CA, David Coats, LaPlace, LA, Jack Coats of Clinton, IA, Tim Coats of Livermore, and Clarence (Debby) Manwaring of Elk River, ID; five aunts, Virginia Sorenson of Beaverton, OR, Barb (Brian) Moore, of Lewiston, Debbie (Brian) Herrman of Lewiston, Patty (Jeff) Lessman of Mt. Carroll, and Nancy (Clint) Sewell of Clarkson, WA; step-mother, Sharon Bensching of Westport, WA; Many cousins by whom he was greatly loved; Kaia Russell, who has been like a daughter to Tayler for many years; and Tayler’s dog, Oliver.

Tayler is preceded in death by his father, Thomas; grandparents, Cloy and Mary Coats, and Don and Marie Bensching; his uncle, Dan Coats; and his cousin, Eric Coats.
