Susan C. Beals

Susan C. Beals, age 55 of Preston, Iowa, died on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her home in rural Preston, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston. A memorial fund has been established in Susan’s memory.
Susan was born on June 5, 1957, the daughter of Elmer and Jean (Twait) Stewart in Ottawa, Illinois. She was raised and attended school in Marseilles, Illinois. Susan married Daniel W. Beals on December 25, 1983.
Susan worked in a sewing factory in Marseilles, for several years. Susan and her family moved to Preston in 1995. After they moved to Preston, Susan stayed home and took care of her family. She treasured the outdoors, especially gardening and caring for animals. Susan was certified to rehabilitate injured and abused animals in the state of Iowa. She always fought for animal rights and was a member of P.E.T.A. Most of all, Susan loved spending time with her family and friends.
Susan will be dearly missed by her husband, Danny of Preston; one daughter, Jane (Jacob Sallie) Beals of Decatur, Illinois; one son, Charlie Beals of Maquoketa, Iowa; one granddaughter, Jordan; one brother, Rick Stewart of Ottawa, Illinois; one sister, Patty (David) Coleman of Rice Lake, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews. Susan was preceded in death by her parents.
