Steven R. "Rozzi" Rossmann

Steven R. “Rozzi” Rossmann, age 58, of Preston, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Preston. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral and burial will take place at a later date at the Preston Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in Steven’s memory.

Steven was born on July 28, 1959 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of Richard “Doc” and Darlene (Grove) Rossmann. He attended Preston High School and graduated with the Class of 1977. Following high school, Steven attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Peosta, Iowa. Steven was a self-employed carpenter. His abilities allowed him to create new and unique designs with precise detail. Steve’s skills allowed him to look at a picture and turn it into a masterpiece constructed from wood.

Steven enjoyed trapping, tractor pulls, watching NASCAR races, and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed creating works of art from wood for family and friends. Steven always made sure he had the proper breakfast of Mountain Dew and Hostess Zingers.

Steven is survived by his son, Blake Rossmann of Maquoketa, Iowa; two sisters, Beth (Dave) Christoffer of Lansing, Iowa, Marie (Gene Kieffer) Rossmann of Preston; father, Doc Rossmann of Preston; aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews and cousins. Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene and an infant son, Michael.
