Steven John Lawson

Steven John Lawson, age 57, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established.

Steven was born October 21, 1960, in Oregon, Illinois, the son of John and Elsie (Beaston) Lawson. He attended Savanna High School. Steven worked as a boilermaker and was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed carpentry and working on all types of machines, riding his motorcycle and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Steven will be dearly missed by his three children, Jason (Jen) Nave of Savanna, Brett (Cheryl) Lawson of Thomson, Illinois, and Brandi (Matt) Kerkove of Savanna; nine grandchildren, Brayden and Kyle Nave, McKenzie, Ashlynn, Trevor Miller and Devon Lawson, Ariana, Atlantis, Kyaria Kerkove; one great-grandson, Owen; three sisters, Barb (Bob) Eacker of Chadwick, Illinois, Cindy (Joe) Cinquina of Lexinton, Kentucky, Chris Nicholson of Clinton, Iowa; and one brother, Danny (Donna) Lawson of Greentown, Indiana.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie; two brothers, Ryan and John Lawson; a brother-in-law, Tim Nicholson; and a grandson, Shawn Miller.
