Steven Breitbach, age 59, of Savanna, Illinois, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his home in rural Savanna. Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial of will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Steven’s memory.
Steven was born February 15, 1953, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of John and Marianne (Fulrath) Breitbach. He attended Savanna High School and graduated with the Class of 1971. He later attended a Tech School while Honorably serving his Country in the United States Army. He spent much of his enlistment in Germany. On June 4, 1977 Steven married the love of his life Dottie Ann Mader at the First United Methodist Church in Savanna. Steven worked for the Savanna Army Depot for seventeen years as a security guard, after the closing of the Depot he went to work as an over the road truck driver.
Steven enjoyed working on cars, being outdoors and everything that has to do with model railroads. Family meant everything to Steven; he always said his granddaughters were his pride and joy.
Steven will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Dottie; two daughters, Melissa Breitbach of Chicago, Illinois, Sabrina Breitbach of Savanna, Illinois; two granddaughters, Tammy and Cheyenne Lawrence of Savanna, Illinois; a step grandson, John Griffeth; and a special friend Ron Blair. Steven was preceded in death by his parents.
