Stanley I. Remrey

Stanley I. Remrey, age 69, of Savanna, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with Pastor David Vidler of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna. Friends may call from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Funeral Home in Savanna. Stanley was born January 23, 1936 in Argo Fay, Illinois the son of Mark & Marcella (Frank) Remrey. Stan attended Mt. Carroll High School. On June 16, 1979 Stan married Florence "Fussy" (McCarthy) Crist, in Savanna. Stan farmed all of his life in the rural Mt. Carroll area, retiring in February 2001. He enjoyed raising cattle and working outdoors. Stan loved his home place and liked to take rides around the countryside.

Stan is survived by his loving wife, Florence "Fussy" of Savanna; two sons, Jeff Remrey of Princeton, Illinois and Kevin (Sharon) Remrey of Mt. Morris, Illinois; two step-sons, Robert (Barbara) Crist of South Elgin, Illinois and Thomas Crist of Savanna; two daughters, Sherry Robinson of Bettendorf, Iowa and Tami (Ed) Bratcher of Earlville, Illinois; three step-daughters, Dana (Gary) Baglin of Savanna, Martha (Steven) Lovely of Forest Hill, Maryland and Rae Ann (Dave) Reynolds of Savanna; three brothers, Philip (JoAnn) Remrey of Savanna, Denny (Carly) Remrey of Clinton, Iowa and Boyd (Ruth Ann) Remrey of Savanna; and seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson, Jeffrey Crist, who died in 1995.
