Stanley Wayne Helle

Stanley Wayne Helle, age 66, of Riverview, Illinois, died on Monday, March 22, 2010, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with President Konrad Radke officiating. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Unity Hospice in Stanley’s memory.

Stanley was born April 14, 1943, the son of Walter and Alice (Williams) Helle in Savanna. He attended Savanna High School and graduated with the Class of 1961. Stanley married Lorraine Shafer on July 10, 1974 in Rochelle, Illinois.

Stanley first worked for Wood Products Incorporated in Savanna until 1986. He then went to work for Elkay Manufacturing, Savanna for fourteen years. Stanley was a lifetime member of the Moose Club in Mt. Morris, Illinois. He enjoyed working, watching T.V. and working in the yard. But most of all Stanley cherished the time spent with friends and family.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Riverview; one son, Aaron Helle of Belprey, Ohio; three step daughters, Coweina Travis of McConnell, Illinois, Julie Johnson of Ashton, Illinois and Sheri Hooper of Clinton, Iowa; five step grandchildren; and two brothers, Vernon (Delores) Helle of Pittsfield, Illinois and Joe (Pat) Helle of Mt. Carroll.

Stanley is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janice Mills; and one infant brother, Burnette Helle.
