Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, at the church, and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Miles Cemetery.
Born on March 17, 1986, Stacy was the beloved daughter of Larry and Vicki (Ruchotzke) Johnson. She was raised in Miles and graduated from East Central High School in the Class of 2004. Following high school, Stacy pursued training as a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating four years to caregiving before health concerns led her to step back.
It was in the course of life’s journey that Stacy met Brian Wentz, whom she married on June 24, 2006. Together they built a loving home in Miles and were blessed with two sons, Avery and Owen. Their marriage, rooted in mutual admiration and devotion, spanned nearly 19 joyful years.
Stacy will be remembered for her warm humor, resilient spirit, and unwavering loyalty. She found joy in crafting—creating wreaths, scrapbooks, and window decals—and had a knack for sewing, though she lovingly left button-sewing to her mother. Her laughter was contagious, her kindness boundless, and she was always ready to lend a hand. She was a dedicated mother who gave selflessly for her children, and a true friend to many.
Stacy is survived by her husband, Brian Wentz; her sons, Avery and Owen Wentz; her parents, Larry and Vicki Johnson; siblings, Tracy (Shawn) Trenkamp, Corey (Tammy) Johnson, and Arthur Wentz; mother-in-law, Lynnette Kent; nieces and nephews, Jarrett (Dakota) Trenkamp, Mitchell Johnson, Cassidy (Colton) Schmitt, and Ryan (Taylor) VanZuiden; her grandfather-in-law, Owen Wampler; and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
