Stacie Renee Smith

Stacie Renee Smith was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, devoting her life to her family. At the age of 41, Stacie passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in Stacie’s memory.
Stacie was born November 27, 1974, the daughter of Dennis and Connie (Roberts) Zink in Clinton, Iowa. She attended Savanna Schools, graduating with the Class of 1992. She had a big heart and a great work ethic, even when she was young. She started working with her mother at the age of 14, at Land of Oz Dolls, doing shipping, running the eBay store, and building their website. Stacie married Kenneth Smith on June 24, 1995 at Center Hill Church in Mt. Carroll, Illinois.
Stacie worked as a teller at RIA Federal Credit Union for nine years, and at H&R Block as a tax preparer for nine years. She also worked with her husband for five years, operating the Palisades State Park Convenience Store. Stacie enjoyed camping, traveling to Yellowstone National Park and attending her daughter, Alyssa’s sports events. She was an avid reader, and a fan of the Chicago Bears.
Stacie will be dearly missed by her husband of 20 years, Kenneth; one daughter, Alyssa Smith; her parents, Dennis and Connie; one sister, Stefanie Ann (Greg Brewer) Zink of Rockford, Illinois; father and mother-in-law, David and Ruth Smith; two brothers-in-law, Charles (Sheila) Smith, and Tony (Ria) Smith; a sister-in-law, Yvonne (Jeff) Weimerskirch; three nieces, Mariah Bowens, Micheala Smith, and Emily Weimerskirch; one nephew, Austin Smith; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Stacie is preceded in death by all of her grandparents, Herman and Blanche Robert, Robert and Lucille Zink, Ora and Myrtle Bowling and Richard and Violet Smith.
