Shirley Holm

Shirley M. Holm, age 78, of Mt Carroll, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Mt Carroll, Illinois, following a short illness. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. A memorial fund has been established in Shirley’s honor.
Shirley was born on May 17, 1937 in Freeport, Illinois to Clifford and Bernice (Reddington) Krippendorf. She graduated from Hanover High School with the Class of 1955. She married Richard Holm on August 5, 1955. Richard passed away on February 16, 2009 after 53 years of marriage. She and Richard farmed and owned Holm Trucking and Holm Septic Service for many years. She worked at Atwood Manufacturing in Mt Carroll for many years until retiring. She was a member of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church and enjoyed garage sales, auctions, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Connie (Robert) Robbe of Texas, four sons, Randy (Karen) Holm, James (Teresa Aubuchon) Holm, both of Mt Carroll, Thomas (Kelly) Holm of Colona, IL and William (Ada) Holm of Thomson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Orth of Sciota Mills, Illinois, brother, Leroy (Sally) Krippendorf of Stockton; three brothers-in-law, Richard Reifsteck of Stockton, Ronald (Barbara) Holm of Mt Carroll, Bob Holm of Missouri and sister-in-law Betty (Eugene) Boyer of Thomson.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, husband, mother and father-in-law Harold and Minnie Holm, one son Ricky, two grandsons, two sisters Sally Reifsteck and Judy Wild, brother-in-law Donnie Orth, and sister-in-law Wanda Holm.
