Shellane Elise Roe age 63, of Green Island, Iowa passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton, Iowa after a long battle with dementia. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 on at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula, Iowa. Shellane was born February 21, 1954 in Clinton, the daughter of Jacques and Isobel (Vaughn) Lampe. She attended Sabula High School. Shellane was a homemaker; she also worked at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, Illinois for four years as a Nurse’s Aide. On June 22, 1986, Shellane married Eugene (Jim) Roe in Green Island, Iowa. She was a loving and caring wife, putting her husband and children above all. Shellane helped raise her grandchildren, Shalynn, Jacques, Virginia and Isobel. They were the love of her life.
Shellane loved reading, movies, crocheting and knitting before losing her eyesight. Shellane’s biggest pride and joy where her grandchildren. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Clinton, Iowa. The Church was a big part of her life.
Shellane will be dearly missed by her husband, Jim; son, Jonathan Lewis of Clinton; daughter, Jacqueline Heister of Clinton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Shellane was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Timothy in infancy.
