Scott was born May 6, 1962 in Maquoketa, IA, the son of Harold and Bernice (Mussmann) Randall. He graduated from East Central High School with the class of 1981. Scott then went to work for IBP meat packing, in Joslin, IL. In 1995, he began working for Rockwell Collins and still found time to work part time at the Preston Country Store, where he knew just about every face that walked through the door. He later transitioned to ADM, ultimately retiring in 2022. Scott was always a hard-working man, and he didn’t let retirement stop that! He was currently still working for Plastics Unlimited and tended bar occasionally at Downtown Tap. In 1986, Scott married Kim Worley. They had two children to go along with Kim’s daughter, who Scott treated as his own. Then in 1996, Scott married Pam Deppe.
Scott was actively involved in his community. He was a member of ABATE district 21 and the Knights of Columbus. Always an avid sports fan, he cheered on his Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and of course all the local teams. He coached youth baseball throughout his life and umpired men’s softball at Geno’s in the summer. He loved sports documentaries and would look forward to tuning into the College and Little League World Series.
In his down time, Scott enjoyed reading historical non-fiction, watching westerns, and listening to classic rock and country music. He loved his family dearly and cherished time with his grandchildren and his partner Pam. He made many lifelong friends and could often be found helping a friend in need or taking their money in poker!
Scott is survived by two daughters, Amanda Jeffries, of Marshfield, MO and Nicole (Jeffrey Condon) Randall, of Davenport, IA; son, Derek Randall, of Colona, IL; seven grandchildren, Noah, Nevaeh, Zoey, Corbin, Alayna, Leigha, and Ily; mother, Bernice Lackas, of Miles, IA; life partner, Pam Deppe; two sisters, Denise (Randy) Heppner, of Clinton, IA and Natalie (Steven) Relph, of Camanche, IA; four brothers, Frank (Sharon) Randall, of Elizabeth, IL, Bill (Rochele Wink) Randall, of Clinton, IA, Ed Randall, of Miles, IA, and David Randall, of Miles, IA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
