Scott Alan Kradle, long-time resident of Savanna and Mt. Carroll, pool player, motorcycle rider and most of all, Grandpa. At the age of 57, Scott passed away from a sudden illness on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa. (What he would have given to pass in Wisconsin to honor his faithfulness to the Green Bay Packers.) A celebration of life will be held 6 – 8pm, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Law Jones Savanna. You may also join the family the following week for a fundraiser to benefit Scott’s honor and local charities, at the TNT Roundhouse Bar & Pool Hall, beginning at 11:30am Sunday, June 25, 2023 and continuing throughout the day.
Scott’s philosophy on life was “have fun and keep it simple”, although the fun part sometimes caused great complexity. In the end, he had it figured out. He will be missed by many close friends and a lot of family, including his fiancé, Julia Wallace of Savanna; two daughters, Sera Kradle and Kristy Kradle, both of Savanna; two step-sons, Anthony (Megan) Garibay of Savanna and Adam Garibay of Texas; two step-daughters, Kayla Rio-Ramirez of Carpentersville and Breanna Wallace of Elgin; three grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; two brothers, Rocky Kradle of Rockford and Dean Kradle of Muncie, Indiana; and his cat, Lucky. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dawn Kradle.
Scott was born March 7, 1966, the son of Keith and Clarice (Hoover) Kradle. He grew up in Mt. Carroll and graduated with the Class of 1985. Scott married Debra Eyerly-Garibay, and later divorced. He met Julia Wallace five years ago and they formed a great friendship, which turned into an engagement. They were hoping for many years together.
Scott enjoyed the outdoors, the Cordova Dragstrip, playing pool in several leagues, Texas Hold’em poker, travelling, riding his Harley and his cat, Lucky. He mostly loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the hospital and nursing people that helped Scott, along with the many friends that have offered support. Memorials may be given in Scott’s honor directly to Law Jones Funeral Home.
