Scott Collins

Scott Douglas Collins, age 59, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at home. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Scott’s memory.
Scott was born February 25, 1957, in Savanna, the son of Robert and Phyllis (Oberheim) Collins. He attended Savanna Schools. Scott worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a welder for many years. He also worked as a Commercial Fisherman on the Mississippi River and for FS Carroll Service Company in Lanark, Illinois.
Scott cherished being an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, trapping, hunting, and gardening. He was also a good artist who loved to draw. He also enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren.
Scott will be dearly missed by his two sons, Joseph Collins of Savanna, and Booker (Christie) Collins of Clinton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Cora, Sadie, London, and Leo; a brother, Robert Collins of Savanna; two sisters, Cathy (David) Miller of Pearl City, Illinois, and Debbie (Dave) Cottral of Savanna. He was preceded in death by both parents.
