Scott was born July 23, 1971, in Clinton, IA, the son of Leonard and Connie (Badrick) Bormann. He attended Preston schools, graduating from Preston High School with the class of 1990. Scott soon went to work for Wendling Quarries as a production superintendent, where he stayed for 29 years. He recently made a career change and for the last year, he worked for Clysar as a technical service representative.
On May 15, 1999, Scott married Monica Brundage at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula, IA. They would go on to bring two children into this world, their beloved daughters, Hannah and Emma. Scott loved his family dearly and would look forward to opportunities to travel with them, or visit his girls at the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls.
Scott was a member of the Preston Lions Club, served four years on the Easton Valley School Board, and was a loyal member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Scooter, as he was affectionately known to all who knew him, was a passionate sports fan, cheering on his Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals, and Miami Dolphins. Just this past November he was able to attend his first Dolphins game, at Soldier Field. He enjoyed a good beverage with family and friends, and if he could listen to ‘80’s music while doing it, all the better! Scott also loved his dog Hector. We’re sure they are reunited in heaven today.
Scott will be dearly missed by his wife, Monica; daughters, Hannah and Emma; mother, Connie Bormann, of Preston; and two brothers, Mike (Jamie) Bormann, of Preston and Doug (Vicky Foley) Bormann, of Moline, IL. Scott is preceded in death by his father, Leonard, and his maternal and fraternal grandparents.
