Sandra "Sandy" Yvonne Solomon

Sandra “Sandy” Yvonne Solomon, age 58, of Savanna, formerly of Glendale Heights, Illinois passed away February 22, 2022 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandy was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother who cherished family gatherings. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna with a visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sandy was born March 30, 1963 in Chicago, the daughter of Wallace and Yvonne (Cockerill) Elkhorn. She is a 1981 graduate of Christian Ace High School in Schaumburg, Illinois. On November 27, 1982, Sandy married Daniel Solomon in Westmont, Illinois. They have raised two daughters, Trinity and Nicole, and have celebrated 39 years of marriage.

Family was #1 for Sandy, she loved boating, camping, and family get-togethers. She had a “green thumb” and raised flowers, plants and loved to garden. Her perfect day-trip would include listening to 80s love songs in the car with Dan, a stop at Goodwill, antique shopping, tasting at a local winery, and finally ending up at home cooking for family. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds, decorating for Christmas and other holidays, riding in the semi and getting away to Door County and the UP in Michigan.

Sandy will be dearly missed by her husband Daniel of Savanna; two daughters, Trinity (Jim Hardin) Solomon of Savanna and Nicole (Dustin) Partin of Savanna; five grandchildren, Alexander, Alayna, Joseph, Nathaniel and Kimberlee; and five siblings, Richard and Mary Eckhorn of Mancelona, MI, Carrie (Ted) Wright of Sabinam, OH, Lori (Jerry) McDaniel of Grand Rapids, MI, Judi Haverkamp of Traverse City, MI and Steven (Amy) Eckorn of Mancelona, MI. Sandy is preceded in death by both of her parents.
