Sandra Pratt

Sandra K. Pratt, 77, of Thomson, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10th, 2025, at Rock River Hospice House in Sterling, IL.

A funeral service to honor’s Sandra’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17th, at First United Methodist Church in Savanna, IL. Visitation will take place prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest in Spring Lake Cemetery.

Sandra was born on March 13, 1947, to Wayne and Gladys (Cook) Russell in Clinton, IA. She spent her early years in Preston, IA, where her father worked at the Pontiac Garage, owned by her grandfather. Later, the family moved to Sabula, IA, where Sandra graduated from High School with the class of 1965.

In 1983 Sandra met the love of her life, Herbert Pratt, on a blind date arranged by mutual friends. Their connection was immediate, and they married on March 2, 1984. Over the next 41 years they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared joys, raising their beloved son, Benjamin, in the Riverview area. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Sandra began her career at the Sabula Speaker factory, before moving on to Elkay Manufacturing in Savanna, IL. She later took on a seasonal supervisory role at Swiss Colony, and simultaneously spent 20 years as a successful Avon representative.

Sandra and her family cherished time spent at the Palisades Golf Course. After her retirement she participated in the Wednesday Woman’s Golf League and the Monday Traveling Senior Women’s Golf League. However above all else she was a loving wife and mother, finding her greatest joy in caring for her two boys, Herb and Benjamin.

Sandra will be deeply missed by her loving husband Herb and her son, Ben of Thomson, and her extended family of several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
