Sandra Andersen

Sandra M. Andersen, age 76, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

Sandra was born on February 15, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Stanley and Elizabeth Flak. She attended St. Procopius High School and graduated with the Class of 1958. Later in life, she earned a degree in Computer Programming from Morton College. On February 4, 1967, Sandra married the love of her life Lawrence Andersen. Sandra was a homemaker, family meant the world to her.

Sandra was a member of the Saints John and Catherine Catholic Church in Mt. Carroll. She enjoyed playing Bingo and league bowling with Lawrence. Sandra and Lawrence treasured the time they spent going to Morrison-Rockwood State Park in Morrison, Illinois to enjoy mother nature. She loved reading, movies, gardening and animals especially, her dog Scruffie.

Sandra will be dearly missed by her husband, Lawrence; four children, Elliott Andersen of Downers Grove, Illinois, Noah (Sharon Andersen of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ingrid (Jason) Lawlor of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Mercy (Jacob) Grant of Peoria, Illinois; three grandchildren, Olivia, Isabella, Jaxon Grant and a brother, Stanley “Butch” (Donna) Flak of Murray, Nebraska. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.
