Ruth Kingery Pauley, 94, formerly of rural Mt. Carroll, passed away Monday evening May 13th, at the Community Home Living Options in Monroe, Wisconsin.
Ruth was the second oldest daughter of Charles E. and Elfreda Wenzel Kingery. She was the valedictorian for the Mt. Carroll High School class of 1942 and attended Shimer College for one year. She married Glen Pauley in 1943 and they spent most of their 71 years together as farmers in Salem Township. A former 4-H leader, she was a member of Carroll County Home Extension and 1st Lutheran Church of Chadwick.
Ruth is survived by four children - Larry (Donna) Pauley of North Smithfield, RI, Linda (Allan) Haeger of East Troy, WI, Douglas (Darlene) Pauley of Winslow, and Darrell (Jan) Pauley of Pearl City, eight grandchildren,- Travis Pauley, Gretchen Pauley Streeter, Jeff Haeger, Julie Haeger Bortoli, Jody Pauley Indergand, Mark Pauley, Chris Pauley Tim Pauley, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Glen M. Pauley, her brother Charles (Bill) Kingery, and sisters Fern Henry, Helen Fritz, and Gene Hoak.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church, Chadwick, with a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place in Lanark Cemetery, Lanark, Illinois.
