Ruth Mcginnis

Ruth E. McGinnis of Teeds Grove, Iowa, formerly of Sabula, Iowa, died at the age of 69 on Monday, February 2, 2015 at home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Sabula, with Teresa Bartlett officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established.
Ruth was born June 11, 1945 in Sabula, Iowa, the daughter of Marshall and Anna (Welch) Henricksen. She attended East Central School in Sabula, and graduated with the Class of 1964. She married Joseph McGinnis in November of 1966. Joseph died on June 11, 1967. She then married Gerald Macy on April 13, 1968.
Ruth was a devoted mother and homemaker. She loved camping, and spending time with children—whether it was her own, or babysitting other children.
Ruth will be dearly missed by one son, Jay (Melanie) Macy of Sabula; one daughter, Laurie Brewer McGinnis of Andover, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, Jessica (Cory) Cram of Andover, Joshua McGinnis-Brewer of Andover, Lisa (Jesse) Fosdick of Savanna, Kayleen Macy of Clinton, Jade Brewer of Clinton, Nicole Macy of Preston, Heather Macy of Sabula; 3 great-grandchildren, Makyla and Maleah Cram, and Kimberly Fosdick; three brothers, Vernon (Joyce) Welch of Bellevue, Iowa, Donald Welch of Albany, Illinois, Ronald Welch of Sabula; and two sisters, Marie (Donald) Wyant of Clinton, Iowa, and Helen Welch Ricklefs of Maquoketa, Iowa.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Joseph; one brother, Eugene Welch; and one infant grandson, Joey.
