Russell A. Culver, age 51, of Elizabeth, Illinois, died Friday, February 24, 2012, at his home in Elizabeth. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Elizabeth, with Pastor Cheryl Carroll officiating. Russell was born March 8, 1960, in Bellevue, Iowa, the son of Francis and Donna (Bearce) Culver. He graduated from Maquoketa High School with the Class of 1978. Russell worked for the Pacific Coast Feather Company in Maquoketa and also worked for many farmers in the Maquoketa and Preston, Iowa, area. Most recently, Russell worked at Dually’s Bar and Restaurant in Elizabeth, Illinois. Russell enjoyed camping and fishing, and being outdoors whenever possible. He had a great sense of humor. Russell enjoyed time spent with family and friends, especially his Sunday morning trips to Wal-Mart with his good friend Glenn Adamson.
Russell is survived by his mother, Donna (Stan) Scheuning of Elizabeth, Illinois; one sister, Linda (Robert) Smith of Savanna, Illinois; two nephews, Lonnie Feltes of Bellevue, Iowa, and Loras Feltes, Jr. of Miles, Iowa; several aunts, uncles and cousins and his good friends Glenn and Sandy Adamson of Elizabeth.
Russell was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Francis Culver. Russell’s family would like to thank Glenn and Sandy Adamson for their kindness and care for Russell, and for being truly good friends.
