Rosemary Ann Schreck, age 89, of Stockton, Illinois died Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth, Illinois. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Stockton, Illinois. Burial will be in Ladies Union Cemetery, Stockton. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth, Illinois and 10:00 – 11:00 am Wednesday at the Church, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Rosemary’s memory.
Rosemary was born October 9, 1918 in Elizabeth Township, the daughter of Edward and Elfie (Hood) Harkness. After graduating from the Elizabeth High School with the Class of 1936, she married Delmar Schreck on June 25, 1938. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1996.
Rosemary and Delmar lived near Woodbine where they farmed. After retirement, they moved to Stockton. She was an excellent cook and served many family get-togethers. She loved playing cards, eating out, dancing, and spending time with her family. Rosemary was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stockton and the Woodbine Home Extension Unit.
Rosemary will be dearly missed by two daughters, Kathleen (Donald) Williams of Arena, Wisconsin and Marilyn (Robert) Detwiler of Apple River, Illinois; four grandchildren, Eric (Sheila) Williams of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Paul Williams of Olathe, Kansas, Denise (Chris) Feller of Waterloo, Wisconsin and Brad (Becky) Detwiler of Stockton; three great grandchildren, Zachary Williams, Anne Marie Williams and Joshua Detwiler. Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Glenn and Keith Harkness.
