Roland Reynold Ury

Roland Reynold Drury, age 92, of Clinton, IA, passed away at Bickford of Clinton, on August 13,
2024. Cremation rites have been accorded, with interment taking place at Fairview Cemetery,
in Jackson County, IA.

Roland was born September 27, 1931, in Green Island, IA, the son of George and Sarah
(Grant) Drury. He graduated from Miles High School. Following his school years, Roland
served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Roland married Delores Henricksen,
then farmed for many years in the Miles area, before working for Clinton Engines, and later
spending 17 years driving a semi-truck.

Roland’s years on the farm were always some of his favorites, and even later in life, he
treasured time spent on that land. He loved mowing those grounds and enjoying the privacy
and connection to nature that his 12 acres provided. He also enjoyed motorcycles throughout
his life, and liked to travel when he could.

Roland is survived by his sons, Rick Drury, of Tacoma, WA and Mark (Jan) Drury, of Clinton, IA;
four grandchildren, Robert, George, Andrew, and Morgan; and several great-grandchildren.
Roland is preceded in death by his parents, George and Sarah, and wife, Delores.
