Rocina B. Nehrkorn, age 93, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, White Hall, Illinois. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Illinois with Reverend Larry Thomson officiating. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 prior to the service. Interment will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery.
Rocina was born on March 15, 1914 in Patterson, Illinois the daughter of William A. and Anna Mary (Schutz) McClenning. She was united in marriage to Wilmer D. Nehrkorn on June 21, 1940 in Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1988.
Rocina was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Savanna and White Hall, Illinois. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Rocina was a former member of the United Methodist Women’s Organization and enjoyed her quilting days with friends at the Methodist Church in Savanna.
Rocina is survived by two sisters, Ruth Allen of White Hall, Illinois and Junia Nielsen of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also, surviving are several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two brothers, Carl and Leo McClenning, two sisters, Gertie McClenning and Irene Karnes.
