Roberta L. Clifton

Roberta (Nicoletti) Clifton, age 89, of Bellevue, Iowa, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died unexpectedly Monday February 11, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded and a funeral mass will be Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church in Savanna. Burial will take place in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Antl Hall in St. John’s the Baptist Church. Roberta was born March 14, 1923 in Savanna, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Ginie) Nicoletti. She married Maurice “Kip” Clifton on September 17, 1949. They celebrated 63 years together. Roberta graduated from Savanna High School and attended the University of Illinois. She worked for United Airlines in California, the Savanna Army Depot, and the Bellevue Library. Roberta enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards and time spent with family and friends. Roberta is survived by her husband, Kip of Bellevue, Iowa, aunt Lorraine Basile of Bettendorf, Iowa three children, Michael (Diana) Clifton of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Sherie (Jeff) Melton of Clinton, Iowa, Michelle (Rob) Gonzales of Highlands Ranch,Colorado, five grandchildren, Grant, Melanie, John, Courtney and Paulina and two great-grandaughters Aleigha and Violet. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty McCue.
