Robert Yaddof

Robert G. Yaddof, age 59, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at the Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Preston, Iowa, with Rev. Gregory Geier officiating. Burial will follow at the Spragueville Cemetery in Spragueville, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, at the Miller – Law – Jones Funeral Home in Preston. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Robert was born October 29, 1949, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Norma (Ruchotzke) Yaddof, Sr. He graduated from Preston High School in 1967, and later graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, with a Bachelors Degree in Business. Robert was married to Kathleen Dwyer Runge on March 4, 1972, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Preston. They later divorced and remained friends.

Robert worked for Society Insurance in sales and marketing. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, and being outdoors in general. He loved to golf and getting up on Saturdays in the fall to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Robert is survived and lovingly remembered by two sons, Justin (Katherine) Yaddof of Denver, Colorado, and Christopher Yaddof of Charlotte, North Carolina; three brothers, Alvin (Velma) Yaddof of Preston, Iowa, Elmer (Carol) Yaddof Jr. of Preston, and Norman (Jeanne) Yaddof of Preston; one sister, Lois (Larry) Hoffman of Preston; and a special friend, Debbie of Davenport, Iowa; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Melvin Yaddof and Everett Yaddof, and one sister, Florence Yaddof.
