Bob was born December 9, 1924, the son of Fred and Minnie (Weber) Miller in Thomson. He was a graduate of Thomson High School, Class of 1942 and awarded an Illinois State Farmer Degree. On January 27, 1945, he married Arla Brown at the Albany, Illinois Methodist Parsonage by Reverend Doverspike. For sixty-three years the couples have remained close friends and celebrated milestone anniversaries together.
Bob began his lifelong farming career in Thomson, raising melons, before moving to Lanark in 1955 where he also farmed. His health forced him to retire from active farming in 1982, but he continued to be interested in farming. During his retirement years his main hobby was gardening. In 1996, Bob and Arla left the farm and moved back to Thomson. He immensely enjoyed hosting the Annual “1942” Class Reunion in his home.

Dollinger and many nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred J. Miller.
