Robert W. Lindsay

Robert W. Lindsay, age 84 of Lanark, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at home. A private family service will be held with burial in the Lanark Cemetery.

Robert was born August 14, 1937 in Lanark, the son of Robert and Lois (Smith) Lindsay. The family moved to Mt. Carroll and Robert graduated from the Mt. Carroll High School with the Class of 1955. Robert married the love of his life, Carol Lotz on July 5, 1959. They raised two sons in Lanark and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, his family was his pride and joy.

From a young age, Robert was able to see from only one eye, and later in life, he became completely blind. He and Carol were true partners as they counted on each other to make it through each day. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. They meant the world to him. The adventures and stories they had together are numerous. Robert will forever hold a huge place in the family’s hearts.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Carol; his son, Shawn (Mindy) Lindsay of Mt. Carroll; grandson, Kobe Lindsay; and granddaughter, Mackenzie Lindsay. He is preceded in death by his son, John Lindsay; a nephew, Scott Lindsay; his brother, Greg Lindsay; and his parents, Robert and Lois Lindsay.
